The Relationships That Weave Throughout Time Space
Nico Miller
This description about “The Relationships That Weave Throughout Time Space” has some
superficial definite meaning, and some not so superficial meaning.
It is intended that this installation creates discussion about relationship. All relationship. Yours,
and mine, and everyone in-between. How do we share our time, and with whom do we cherish
it. There are moments in our lives that are unmistakable, unremarkable, and yet, simple. For we
humans dance around each other, weaving paths into each other’s lives, waiting for an
opportunity to say, “hi, and goodbye.” To give a hug. To share food. To build a community. To
bury a lost one... When in these reflections of the human way of life do we find a deeper space,
a deeper meaning...
We find here on earth, the ever-changing, vastly expanding universe, and the intricate
relationships that exist within our surroundings to create a perfect balance outside of this great
blue planet. What is a Bee? ...And a flower? Can the two exist without one another? Can the
earth exist the way it is without the sun? Can we cohabitate alongside the bee and the flower?
Can we live without the moon the same ways we do now? What do we contribute to this
balance? Is this binding notion necessary to even consider? Or do we Be exactly as we are, just
as the bee and flower be?
The decaying roses falling into space time, the broken vase pouring water onto the flowers, and
the bee that pollinates and ensures continuation of life are the building blocks for where this
journey begins for this piece. And the breathwork of movement and petal-brush strokes simulate
a greater, universal breath tied to the balance of nature, and us.
And with that said, this piece is dedicated to Judy Kelley, and those that come into our lives, and
those that leave.
