Mitch Daley (he/him--Dewey) is excited to debut at Wasatch Theatre Company as Dewey and hopes this production of Six Years Old leaves you with a lasting impact. Some of his favorite roles include Man in Chair (The Drowsy Chaperone), Norman Bassett (Cash on Delivery), and Dr. Einstein (Arsenic and Old Lace). Comet Higley (they/them--Adalaide) is excited to play Adalaide in this fun play. This will be Comet’s first time playing a character that reflects their own journey with gender identity, which makes them really happy. Some of their favorite roles have been Molly in How Flowers Bloom and Edith in Home of Truth(Alliance Theatre), Nina in The Seagull and Mrs. Shears and other characters in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime(SLCC), and Torrey in Freaky Friday(Ziegfeld Theatre). Comet wants to say thanks to their partner and family for their support and hugs.
Charly Forrester Kuecks (she/her--Dr. Janet/Amy/Ms. Ramona) studied theater under Todd Parmley and dance under Gilles Maidon at the Waterford School in Sandy, Utah. She has appeared in The Music Man, Footloose, Cymbeline, and as Ariel in The Tempest (twice!). She also did the choreography for a student showcase of Parade. Earlier this year, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by appearing on Jeopardy! Charly wants to thank her late mother for always supporting her dreams and the weird, dramatic theater kid inside her.
Daphne Silbiger (they/them--Playwright) is a playwright, originally from Philadelphia. They are currently pursuing their MFA in playwriting at the University of Texas at Austin. Their plays include: Dirtbag Stacks (Crashbox), O, THE HUMANITY (UT Masters Salon Series), I Love How You Love Me (Playdate @ Pete's Candy Store), Pound (Semi-finalist, 2019 Relentless Award), Six Years Old (Corkscrew Festival, Bushwick Starr), and Polycule (Little Theater @ Dixon Place.). Em Smiley (they/them--Kim) earned a BFA in Theatre with and emphasis in Acting (Actor Training Program) from the University of Utah, and they hold the rank of Actor-Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors. They are a published author in their field and a recipient of six prestigious scholarships – two of which are the Robert Hyde Wilson Talent Scholarship for Acting and the Marian D. Harrison Scholarship. Past theatre credits include Oedipus Rex (Oedipus), The Seagull (Konstantin), How Flowers Bloom (Therapist), Julius Caesar (Cinna/Messala), Macbeth (Doctor/Murderer), and Jesus Christ Superstar (Thomas). Local film credits include Instrumentality (Jamie), by Kobi Baker. Em is also a working musician/song-writer and is in several bands that perform around the Salt Lake area. They have had the privilege of being featured on multiple albums, and their album from their personal project, “Dear Listener,” can be found on various platforms including Apple Music, Amazon Music, Spotify and iTunes. Their appearance in Six Years Old, by Sam Silbiger, is their debut at Wasatch Theatre Company, and they are so incredibly excited and grateful to be a part of this production!!
